North Italia Hosting Three “Family Style” Dinners

North Italia Hosting Three “Family Style” Dinners

Jun 19, 20141 min read

If you love food and you didn’t grow up in a big Italian family then you might have Sunday Supper Envy. That’s a phrase I coined when my best friend in college used to brag about her grandma’s lasagna feasts.

Sound familiar? If so, you might want to jump at the chance to get a reservation for one of the “family style” dinners hosted at North Italia at La Encantada this summer. Chef Carlos Calderon has created three unique community dinner menus with dishes exclusive to this summer series. Inspired by seasonal and regional foods of Italy, the dinners run $45 per person and promise to be “just like how grandma would do.”

And, they’re paired with wine, of course.

June 25th’s Menu:

  • PROSCIUTTO DI PARMA E MELONE – local cantaloupe, organic rocket arugula, Queen Creek Olive Oil
  • CAVATELLI ALLA NORMA – roasted organic eggplant, grape tomato, fresh basil, ricotta salatta
  • CHICKEN SCARPARIELLO – white wine braised, and served with sweet and cheery peppers,Italian sausage and roasted potatoes
  • CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE TART – Nutella mousse, butterscotch, Marcona almond

July 23rd Menu:

  • Fregola e Caprino– Strawberry & Goat Cheese Salad, Balsamic Reduction
  • Cannelloni Mare e Terra– Shrimp Cannelloni, Saffron, Artichokes, Fennel, Citrus, EVOO
  • Filetto di Maiale al Arancia– Orange Roasted Pork Loin, Zucchini Caponata, Baby Carrots
  • Cannoli di Sicilia– Ricotta & Chocolate filled Cannoli

The third dinner (menu unfinalized) will take place August 20th.

Seating is limited – reserve a spot at “grandma’s table” by calling 530.299.1600.
