Celebrate the end of summer on Saturday, September 25 with an all-day, Latin American-themed, family-friendly festival featuring tacos, tequila, margarita, live music, and much more.
“We are thrilled that festivals are back and we look forward to celebrating our community’s Hispanic and Latino culture and roots here in Tucson and beyond,” says Ramiro Bojorquez of Allure Event Company. “We hope everyone will take the opportunity to bring their friends and families to Over the Border on Saturday, Sept. 25 for great food, fun, and music.”
Taking place at Rillito Race Track, the Over The Border Music Festival will feature two stages, including a main stage and a “disco barn.” Main stage entertainment includes performances by headliners ‘Get The Led Out (GTLO),’ a Led Zeppelin tribute act, and local Tucson stand-outs Brook Sample, Drew Cooper and the Billy Shaw Jr. Band. The disco barn will feature DJ Soo, DJ Dibs, DJ MGM, Big Brother Beats and Rare.
But it’s the food and drink that we’re most excited about. This year’s fest includes a “taco row,” Margarita Village, and Tequila Expo.
Taco Row
Starting with Taco Row, the official festival food court, look for 11 taco vendors, including:

- The Maverick

Margarita Village & Tequila Expo
Chances are good that you’ll probably start with margaritas before tacos, but really, there’s no wrong way. Whenever you do make your way over to Margarita Village, however, you’ll have over 20 varieties of margaritas to choose from. And added bonus: margaritas are served in flights of four. Feel like chilling out for a few? Head over to the Tecate Alta lounge for free chips, salsa and guacamole.
If you prefer not watering down your margarita with, well, margarita, there’s the Tequila Expo where you’ll find over 100 different tequilas to taste.
Music, food & fun
As if music and food isn’t enough , the Over The border festival will also feature a Lucha Libre wrestling arena, strolling mariachi bands, and a taco and hot pepper eating contest. Like to shop? Look for a vendor area featuring local artists and artisans, like Hand Crafts by Irma, Maui Waui, Senorita MAD, El Kora, and Parritas Mexican Food.
Tickets for the one day festival are $18 for general admission, $50 for general admission with Margarita Village access, $55 for general admission with Tequila Expo access, and $95 for an all-access pass. A portion of proceeds will benefit Rillito Park Foundation and Southern Arizona Arts & Culture Alliance.
