Wineries across Arizona’s original wine region are toasting the start of summer with special deals, tastings, and live entertainment in honor of National Rosé Day, set for Saturday, June 14.
More than a dozen tasting rooms in the Sonoita-Elgin American Viticultural Area (AVA) are participating in the celebration, highlighting the versatility and vibrancy of rosé wine.
“This is a great opportunity to explore all things pink, from bubbly to savory, and from pale pink to deep salmon color,” said Lori Reynolds, winemaker at Sonoita Vineyards. “Rosé wines are incredibly versatile, perfect for pairing with summer dishes.”
Rosé wines are typically produced by pressing red grapes and limiting their contact with grape skins, resulting in a broad spectrum of pink shades. While today’s versions are often fresh and food-friendly, the history of rosé dates back over 2,500 years, when it was commonly made by diluting red wine with water for safer hydration.
Participating wineries are offering a variety of rosé-centric promotions:
- AZ Hops & Vines: Wine pairing flights, live music, and 10% off bottles.
- Autumn Sage Vineyards: Trio of rosés and 30% off bottles.
- Callaghan Vineyards: $15 glasses of Barrett’s Rosé sparkling wine.
- Charron Vineyards: 10% off on rosé bottles (4 to choose from)
- Deep Sky Vineyard: $5 glasses of its 2021 and 2022 Nebula vintages.
- Dos Cabezas Wine Works: Debut of its 2024 “Pink in a Can” sparkling rosé and pizza specials.
- Elgin Winery and Distillery: 10% off rosé bottles.
- Four Tails Vineyard: Complimentary tastings and 15% off glasses and bottles.
- Los Milics Vineyards: 10% off rosé by the glass and bottle.
- Salvatore Vineyards: Dry and sweet tastings, plus 20% off purchases.
- Sonoita Vineyards: 15% off with purchase of three bottles or more.
- Sunset Ride Vineyards: Live music, guest wineries, and 15% off its 2019 vintage.
- Twisted Union Wine Co.: Three-wine flight with pairings, live music, and 15% off bottles.
