Hotel Congress is bringing “Soul Food Wednesdays” to Cup Cafe, which will be highlighting local black-owned businesses on Wednesday, June 17 – Wednesday, July 8.
For the next few weeks, the historic downtown hotel is inviting some of the tastiest spots in town to set up shop on Wednesday, and then showcase their mouthwatering and flavorful cuisine to the masses. With that, there’s going to be new dishes each week.

The first businesses to kick off the weekly celebration is Black Vibes Catering, and they’re excited to get things going — satisfying your cravings in the process.
It all starts at 7 p.m. and they’ll also be accompanied by Black Broccoli — a fashionable clothing boutique that sells vintage shirts, caps, and more — and live music from Street Blues Family.

Mr. Cookman’s BBQ Food Truck

More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
