What’s cookin’, gourd lookin’? Your guide to pumpkin spice delights in Tucson

Sep 28, 20227 min read

Fall is in the air. The leaves are… not changing color. The temperature is… also staying the same. Actually, nothing’s changing. Even though it doesn’t feel like autumn in the Old Pueblo, we’re still declaring it “Pumpkin Spice Season.” That’s right, bring us every orange-colored, nutmeg-dusted, pumpkin-spiced drink and treat to satisfy our basic gourd-shaped hearts.

Consider this your local guide to the essential pumpkin spice products you need to pick up this season.

We’ll be updating this as drinks and treats become available.

Presta’s got all you pumpkin obsessed fans covered with 2 pumpkin bevvies. The first is a Pumpkin Latte, which you’ll especially love if you aren’t super into the overly sugary lattes. Your second option is the Sugar and Smoke, an espresso con panna for autumnal indulgence, featuring a double shot of espresso, vegan maple whipped cream, cinnamon, and smoked sea salt.

Both are only available hot.

Between the pools, hot spring and cold plunge, water slide, yoga, live music, complimentary bike rentals, and their nostalgic “Summer Rewind” experience, there was always something to do. We never left the resort.

The highlight at their on-site restaurant, Epazote Kitchen & Cocktails, was the Pollo Con Rajas - perfectly cooked chicken over a rich creamed poblano, onion, and corn mestizaje. And if you’re at their Sundance Café for breakfast, get the pozole. It’s made from a family recipe that became such a guest favorite it earned a permanent spot on the menu.

Although El Conquistador licenses the Hilton brand, it’s owned and operated by a local company. The culinary team sources much of its meat and produce from Arizona.

Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or just looking for an incredible dinner with Catalina Mountain views, this spot is worth adding to your list. 🌵🌞
