Wake up with some coffee & a conversation with Don Guerra.

(GMT-07:00)

Fox Theatre in downtown is hosting a CreativeMornings lecture with local baker Don Guerra from 8:30 – 10 a.m. on Friday, March 15.

CreativeMornings is a breakfast lecture series created for Tucson and other communities around the nation and this time around they’re hosting coffee and a good words with the founder of Barrio Bread.

If you didn’t already know, Don Guerra’s bread is awesome. He integrates heritage grains into his work and promotes the local food movement here in Tucson. Guerra’s bread is a hot item in Tucson — and can often be found on local “Top Ten” lists — but in 2016 he was named one of the “Top Ten Bakers in America” by Dessert Professionals magazine and this year, he has been nominated for “Outstanding Baker” in the James Beard 2019 Restaurants and Chef Awards.

However, he’s also got a pretty impressive resume in addition to his dough.

Guerra has spent time teaching classes at The University of Arizona and Tucson Village Farm, has given presentations at the Eller College of Management, and has also collaborated with Native Seed Search.

The coffee and conversation is free to attend at the Fox Theatre but just make sure you register beforehand to secure your seat.

The Fox Theatre can be found in downtown at 17 W. Congress St. For more information and to register for free tickets, visit creativemornings.com.
