Foothills restaurant Harvest on River released a statement announcing its closure at 5605 E. River Rd. Ste. 201.

It is with a heavy heart that we have elected to not renew our lease at our River & Craycroft location. The terms, length & conditions of the new lease offered to us is neither acceptable nor compatible with our business plans & forecast. Adhering to escalating terms of the new lease would challenge our profitability down the road & frankly it would be irresponsible for us to sign on. We pretty much find ourselves in the same situation that Blue Fin [sic] restaurant was a couple of years ago dealing with the same landlord & having to walk away from a profitable business rather than risking uncertainty. Therefore, we will be closing our doors at the conclusion of our business day on Saturday March 23rd.

We have served the Foothills community for nearly 4 years & have made many friendships with our Foothills neighbors. It is extremely sad to say goodbye, however we will look for a new foothills or mid town location to re open Harvest when we find one that fits our needs.

Fortunately, our Oro Valley location is thriving & will be around for years to come. We look forward to serving the Foothills community there, as we did before we opened our River location. We take comfort in the fact that we can offer jobs to most of our employees either in our Oro Valley location or at our new upcoming concept. We are pleased & passionately excited to announce that we have secured a space in the Oro Valley Marketplace & are planning to open an upscale wood fired pizza concept in the coming months. We plan to utilize the best of everything for this concept – people, ingredients, equipment & our passionate commitment to taste & quality, to ensure we serve you pizza unlike any place in town. We’ll keep in touch, and will announce our opening date, when we have a better idea when that would be. Additionally, we’ll update you regarding any progress on securing another location for Harvest. Once again, we would like to thank all of our loyal patrons & hope to see you again in one of our existing or upcoming concepts.

Harvest Restaurant opened its original location in Oro Valley in October 2011. After almost four years in business, the restaurant opened a second location on East River Road in August 2015.
