“Eat This” is your source for some of the tastiest local dishes in town.

When it comes to Chinese cuisine in Tucson, China Szechwan is a local favorite. Their Mongolian Tofu dish is one of the reasons why. This eatery serves up a particularly exceptional version of this popular dish. Although you can find Mongolian tofu at various restaurants around town, many locals and visitors consider the one at China Szechwan the best.

This dish features a comforting medley of flavors and textures, including tender stir-fried tofu and onions coated in a rich, savory sauce on top of crispy fried noodles. The sauce leans on the sweet side — add chili sauce throughout for an extra flavor kick and some heat.

Before you dive into your tofu, start with the Cucumber in Garlic Sauce appetizer. The cucumber is sliced and coated in a garlic sauce that’ll be sure to wake up your taste buds.

Sweet and Sour Tofu is another must-try dish at China Szechwan. The plate features crisp tofu coated in a sweet and tangy sauce surrounded by pineapple, onion, carrot, and bell pepper: endless crunch and bursts of flavor.
