Back in 2020, the owner of Toss Fried Chicken & Ramen said that “ramen and chicken is a really good combination,” and that’s proven to be true here in Tucson because the concept is expanding.
Four years later and now the fast-food ramen and fried chicken joint is ready to open a second location at 1800 E. Fort Lowell Rd., Suite 116, which is in the same plaza as Rosa’s Mexican Food, China Szechwan, and Taqueria El Pueblito.
The exterior sign has been installed — Toss II is what they’re calling it — and the interior is currently being renovated.
There’s still no exact opening date but they’re planning to open near the end of April (this month). The space formerly housed King Churros.
If you’ve never visited the original location at 1655 S. Alvernon Way, the restaurant serves fried chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, and ramen.
The Toss Fried Chicken is similar to popcorn chicken that’s been doused in sauce — you have the choice of salt and pepper, tangy teriyaki, orange chicken, honey Sriracha, garlic Parmesan, and Buffalo.
Ramen comes in the standards ranging from vegan to the rich and porky tonkotsu.
Then, there’s the almighty Chicken Sandwich — crunchy chicken breast with pickles and mayonnaise on a buttered bun.
Stay tuned for the actual Grand Opening of Toss’ new location, but in the meantime, stop by the original spot on Alvernon and show ’em some love.
