Over in the Armory Park neighborhood of downtown Tucson, a unique and dimly-lit cocktail lounge with stained glass and elegant chandeliers awaits your arrival. Since late 2016, Owls Club has been concocting a nice environment — one that’s both enjoyable for hip youngsters and experienced cocktail connoisseurs.
The neighborhood bar experience is constantly evolving, too, at 236 S. Scott Ave. For instance, there’s a brand-new House Cocktails menu to savor at the former funeral home turned bar.
One of the niftiest bits about the new menu (all priced at $12 each) is that the recipes were created collaboratively by the bartending team. Cocktails like the Cliffhanger, which incorporates the locally-based Suncliffe Gin, and the Ken-Tiki — a refreshing mix of bourbon, rum, velvet falernum, almond, cinnamon, and lime in a tall glass of ice — are sure to keep you cool this summer.
The Classic Cocktails menu, featuring the Manhattan, Negroni, and Old Fashioned, is still available as well as an impressive wine list, and curated beer program.
The cocktail lounge also sports a Happy Hour from 5 – 7 p.m. Monday – Saturday and then all day on Sunday. This includes $1 off draft beer, $2 off House Cocktails, a beer and a shot for $5, and $7 Classic Cocktails (usually $10 each).
