Each week, we want to highlight one of our favorite restaurants in Tucson!
Found near the center of downtown Tucson, Nook stands out as a go-to destination for those looking for breakfast classics, standout brunch bites, and hearty lunch options.
Opened in March of 2015, the restaurant has been going strong ever since.
Nook is the brainchild of Matt and Nikki Thompson, a talented husband-and-wife duo who brought their culinary expertise to Tucson after honing their skills at Le Cordon Bleu and working in renowned Hawaiian restaurants like Alan Wong’s Pineapple Room and Roy’s.
Are you reading this article because you’ve never heard of the restaurant, or are you a fan and you’ve eaten there multiple times in the past? Hopefully, it’s the latter because Nook’s menu — a blend of “New American” cuisine, characterized by a fusion of flavors and techniques — is a Tucson treasure.
One of my favorite dishes is the Honey-Chipotle Carnitas Benedict — a combination of crispy pork, wilted spinach, poached eggs, and hollandaise on crumpets.
Also, the patio is dog-friendly! Bring along the four-legged furballs and have a great time.
Nook is also a Restaurant Partner, meaning that Tucson Foodie Insiders can score $10 off their meal four times a year (every 90 days).
For $20 a month, Insiders get a stack of cash vouchers to local restaurants worth over $5,000, free tasting events at local restaurants every month, access to members-only monthly dinner series with local chefs, discounts on events, and monthly mixers with other members. Learn more and join!
