20+ Taprooms & Tasting Rooms to Check Out in Tucson

by Matt SternerJul 19, 2024Updated Aug 4, 20269 min read
Whether it be a craft beer taproom or a tasting room offering wine or distilled spirits like whiskey, Tucson has a splendid selection. Heck, some of the following taprooms offer wine and craft beer. Also, the following taprooms/tasting rooms don't include local businesses that are more restaurant-forward, are local breweries (check out our other guide for that), or bars that specialize in serving all types of beverages.

Arizona Beer House

150 South Kolb RoadEastside

Arizona Beer House has tons of great local, regional, and national beers on tap, and don’t forget to check out the multiple fridges to be sure you get a brew that’ll pair perfectly with grub from a nearby food truck.

Arizona Wine Collective

4280 North Campbell AvenueFoothills

Nestled in the St. Philip’s Plaza, you’ll find a wine list, be it for a tasting, glass, or bottle, featuring wine from more than 20 Arizona wineries. Their unwavering dedication to only serving local wine earned Arizona Wine Collective “Certified Retailer” status under the UNESCO City of Gastronomy designation for metro Tucson.

Casa Marana

8225 North Courtney Page WayMarana

Casa Marana features a balanced selection of beers, wine, cocktails, and some tasty pizzas. It’s wood-fired pizza — you can see the huge oven behind the bar — and are some of our favorite pies in Marana. They also maintain an exceptionally active events calendar. Out on the patio, you can catch a sweet sunset if you time it out just right.

Casa Video and Film Bar

2905 East Speedway BoulevardUniversity & 4th Ave

Casa Video has gone through a few changes since then, like partitioning the building so other businesses could set up shop (Marvelous Vintage and Kira Kira). Still, the video shop has at least 50,000 movie titles in stock to accompany its 20 beers on tap and hundreds of bottles and cans in the coolers. Plus, Casa has been a big supporter of local food trucks and has arguably one of the most up-to-date calendars in Tucson.

Dean's Public House

402 East 9th StreetDowntown

Located on the bottom floor of the historic Coronado Hotel at 402 E. 9th St. (they're not apartments), David and Johnna Meek repurposed the location as the home of their new concept, TraXide Taproom in 2023. The space most recently housed Dillinger Brewing. The concept continues to be a haven for craft beer enthusiasts, offering a diverse range of craft beer and ensuring there’s something on tap for every palate.

Flying Leap Vineyards & Distillery

2940 North Swan RoadMidtown

Located in the heart of Arizona wine country just 50 miles south of metro Tucson, Flying Leap’s Estate Vineyards, Winery, and Distillery facilities are one of the most beautiful wine venues in the southwestern United States.  They spared no detail in ensuring that the customer experience at the winery estate is first-class, premium comfort, and wonderfully extraordinary.

GEORGE Wine Shop

5350 East Broadway Boulevard #134Midtown

Growler's Taphouse

8275 North Silverbell RoadMarana

Growler’s Taphouse is a great place to enjoy a cold beer in Marana. With at least 30 craft beers on tap, a few wines on draft, a full liquor bar, and growler fill stations, you’ll never run out of options to quench your thirst.

Harbottle Brewing Company (Photo by Jackie Tran)

Harbottle Brewing Company

3820 South Palo Verde RoadSouth Side

Harbottle Brewing Company acts as a neighborhood brewery and casual gathering spot in south Tucson’s Palo Verde corridor. The space features industrial touches, high ceilings, a taproom bar and laid-back seating including game tables. Soft lighting and exposed ductwork lend it a relaxed atmosphere.

The tap list rotates frequently, with core favorites including Harbottle IPA and Old Pueblo Pilsner. They also now offer a selection of craft beers from other breweries, local wines, and cider alongside bread and other treats from Figgy Food Company.

La Esquina Bar

630 East 9th StreetDowntown

La Esquina Bar welcomes guests with its warm brick walls, polished concrete floors, and golden lighting that casts a soft glow throughout. Mid-century modern furnishings and artful black-and-white photography give the space a stylish, minimalist feel. Large, spherical chandeliers draw the eye upward, while greenery and emerald tile behind the bar softens the industrial edges. The menu features a combination of beer, wine, and light Spanish-inspired bites.

Mission Motor Collective

2 West Grant RoadMidtown

Mission Motor Collective opens as a curated neighborhood tap-room and workshop in central Tucson. The space features industrial-style floors, muraled walls by local tattoo artists, and a dedicated area where build-in-progress motorcycles sit alongside seating. It feels welcoming to motorbike enthusiasts and craft-beer lovers alike, offering games, open seating and a relaxed mood. The bar lists around twelve craft beers on tap with an emphasis on West-Coast IPAs, hazy brews and rotating seasonal selections. Guests commend the bottle-shop cooler shelves filled with seltzers, ciders and non-alcoholic options to complement the draft list. Weekly food trucks appear five nights a week and trivia nights on Wednesdays bring in a lively crowd.

Tap & Bottle

403 North 6th AvenueDowntown

In 2017,  Tap & Bottle North welcomed folks in, serving the north side of Tucson and Oro Valley. Located in Cottonwood Plaza, offers exceptional beer and wine, ample outdoor space, a private event room, and Trivia on Thursdays. Plus, you can order food from nearby restaurants like Truland Burgers and Fentonelli's.

The Broadway (Photo by Dalton Voss)

The Broadway Beer & Wine Bar

2559 East Broadway BoulevardUniversity & 4th Ave

Located next to Rocco’s Little Chicago Pizzeria, The Broadway Beer & Wine Bar exudes a chic, lounge-like atmosphere with modern decor and a moody color palette. Velvet green booths line the walls, accented by mustard yellow chairs and vintage chandeliers. A neon sign reading “The Broadway” anchors the back wall, adding a playful glow to the sophisticated setting. Additional seating is available on an atrium-style covered patio. The bar offers a wide selection of curated wines and craft beers in a relaxed yet upscale environment.

The menu features a variety of craft beer, wines, and wine cocktails.

Tucson Hop Shop

3230 North Dodge BoulevardMidtown

To many, it’s known as an escape — a place where you can enjoy a cold beer, get lost in an intriguing conversation, and catch a fresh breeze outside on the patio. They think of it as their getaway from the everyday grind. Some plainly call it “Hop Shop.” No matter what it means to you or what you tend to call it, Tucson Hop Shop is a wonderful spot to simply hang out.

Westbound

267 South Avenida del ConventoDowntown

Not just beer but cocktails, too! While the outdoor seating is perfect for taking advantage of Tucson’s cool nights, there’s one more notable perk — the liquor license applies to the whole MSA Annex, so guests can walk around with their libations to check out the neighboring businesses in shipping containers.

Whiskey del Bac

2106 Forbes BoulevardMidtown

If you’re a local whiskey lover, it’s likely you’ve taken sips of this spirit at a local bar or in the comfort of your own home, but if you haven’t, there’s no better time than now to stop by their distillery to learn more, sample their current selection, and take a bottle of your own home with you

Frequently asked questions

A taproom is typically a place where you can enjoy beer on draft, often sourced from multiple breweries, while a brewery is where the beer is actually made. Many Tucson taprooms focus on showcasing Arizona’s best craft brews without brewing their own beer on-site.
