Downtown bar barbata invited the Tucson Foodie team to try a few cocktails from their new menu. Here is the run-through and what we tried.
barbata Cocktail Menu
- Lizard + Gecko Convention: rum, melon, lime, Karlovy Spa Water
- Sky Moustaches: rum, date miso, lime
- Barbara the Bull: vodka, strawberry, lemon, chive, yogurt wash
- Titan: gin, guava, lime, clove, cherry, almond
- Lakes and Lagoons: mezcal, Oaxacan rum, Chinola, lime, black tea, milk wash
- Jam on Toast: bread vodka, raspberry, Marmite, lemon, caramelized labneh
- Nighttime Bluejay: rye, creme de menthe, Mexican fernet
- Wolpertinger: rye, lemon, honey, artichoke amaro, cola amaro, egg white
- Snakefight: tequila, Oaxacan whiskey, sotol, Americano, falernum
- Blueberry Pie: pie crust gin, blampari, sweet vermouth
- Wicked Little Critta: smoky rhubarb, kumquat, mezcal, soda
- Snuff Box: Scotch whisky, sweet vermouth, lapsang souchong

Bread vodka, Marmite, and caramelized labneh all bring different layers of umami to the Jam on Toast. Raspberry and lemon balance with tartness.

The Snuff Box features lapsang souchong to compliment the smokiness of Scotch whisky.

This take on a milk-punch, Barbara the Bull, uses yogurt for some smooth sipping.

The Wicked Little Critta also layers different types of smokiness; this time, smoky rhubarb compliments smoky mezcal.
Rotating Sandwich Specials

Bonus: to supplement their 9 p.m.-midnight burger special, barbata will also begin offering sandwich specials. This weekend, get this chicken sandwich special (my mouth is watering thinking about biting into this last night).
