Can’t get enough of happy hour? Fortunately, Tucson has no shortage of this small window of indulgent savings regardless of what part of town you reside.
In fact, there are likely many that you don’t even know exist, which is why we’ll be featuring one each week.
Downtown and across the street from Hotel Congress at 316 East Congress sits a little joint called Good Oak Bar. Nestled between Rialto Theatre and Diablo Burger, chances are you’ve walked past it on multiple occasions. Its dim lighting and purple curtains at the front make it easy to miss.
Since the front takes up so little space along Congress Street, you might mistake it as another door to Diablo Burger, its sister restaurant that provides the pub-based fare. However, Good Oak Bar is a long and narrow space that offers Arizona beers and wines. They recently incorporated local and regional whiskeys and agave-based spirits.
Its convenient proximity to the Rialto Theatre make it an ideal location to drink and eat before a show, but its quality and vibe are what keep you coming back.
The cozy wooden booths provide an ideal setting for an intimate date in a casual setting. For happy hour, you can save 25% on bottles of wine. Additionally, glasses of wine and pints of beer are half off. Cans are $2. The selection of Arizona vineyards and breweries changes so frequently that you won’t find a menu on their website. Even if you’re a regular, you’ll find new libations on each visit.
Food specials change daily for happy hour. If it happens to be their spicy fried pickles, you’re in for a special treat. However, you won’t be disappointed by any of the other delights coming from the kitchen such as the snack board.
