7 Stellar Sandwiches to Try, Volume Three

Sure you can make a sandwich at home, but are you going to bake your own bread?

If you do, good for you — for the rest of us, it’s worth the money for someone else to make the sandwiches. They’re cheap anyway.

Complicated sandwiches are filled with many layered components that require care, but they are oh so worth it. Here’s our third list of stellar sandwiches in Tucson to put on your radar.

Ermanos Craft Beer & Wine Bar

220 N. Fourth Ave.

Anne Rysdale built @sheltercocktaillounge in 1961 with concrete walls, lava rock, and Cold War nerves. Today, owners Pam Santangelo and Kevin Breutzmann keep the Tucson bar exactly as regulars remember it. Inside, martinis share space with JFK memorabilia, a vintage atomic chandelier, and a suit of armor named Charlie. “Tucson is changing so much, but this has stayed the same. It’s a time capsule,” Santangelo said.
