You don’t need an excuse to eat tacos but whenever Tuesday rolls around it’s hard not to partake in a Taco Tuesday of some sort in Tucson.
Just a couple of months ago, Redbird Scratch Kitchen + Bar debuted Tacos & Tequila Tuesdays out on the north side of town, 6444 N. Oracle Rd.
All day on Tuesday (11 a.m. – 9 p.m.), they’re offering discounts on tacos, margaritas, Redbird shots, and you-call-it tequilas.
The following deals are also available during Redbird’s Monday – Friday Happy Hour (3 – 6 p.m.), but enjoy ’em all day on Tuesday. Keep in mind that these deals are only available for those dining in.

Tacos & Tequila Tuesday Specials
- $12 for 3 Tacos (one protein choice)
- $6 Margaritas: Regular, Strawberry, or Mango
- $4 Redbird Shots
- $2 Off You-Call-It Tequila

Redbird is one of Tucson’s newest concepts, opening its doors in December 2023.
The family-friendly restaurant serves “approachable classics with a focus on executing them with high-quality ingredients.” Some of the dishes include Green Chile Bacon Waffle Fries, Quesabirria, and a trio of salads. Redbird also has hot wings that come in at least five different flavors but then a group of Loaded Wings with flavors like Buffalo, Honey Soy Ginger, Caribbean Jerk, Elote, and Pastor.
Plus, if you’re a Tucson Foodie Insider, the staff at the restaurant will take $10 off your bill every 90 days!

Matt Sterner
More about MattAt a very young age, Matt Sterner was gifted with the artistic ability to masterfully roll a burrito to the highest of standards, but the wrapped medley of delicious innards wasn’t his first love. Matt’s first true love was a combination of reading, writing, and creating. He grew up reading comics, the ingredients list of his shampoo and conditioner bottles, choose-your-own-adventure books, and the Scrabble dictionary — something he found useful when challenging his grandmother to a game.
He attended college at New Mexico State University and graduated with a degree in Digital Filmmaking. One of his favorite classes was screenwriting because he became responsible for the story’s birth before it came to life on-screen. After school, Matt took on numerous positions at a local television station in Tucson. From dealing out stories about heartbreak to producing “fluffier” content for a lifestyle broadcast, he learned what it takes to adapt to the many emotions the world of media can stir. Since 2017, Matt has dabbled in the culinary world of Tucson as well as San Diego, California from time to time.
If you’re in the mood for strange stories, head over to his pride and joy, wonkytimes.com. And in case you’re curious — yes, after all of this time, he still manages to roll a killer burrito.
