In partnership with Cyclovia Tucson, Heirloom Farmers Markets is hosting the fourth annual Viva La Local Food Festival.
This year, the food-lover’s festival is part of Tucson Tandem, a full weekend celebrating local food and five miles of car-free city streets. Viva La Local takes place on Halloween, October 31, from 9am to 5pm, while Cyclovia Tucson is the next day, November 1, from 10am to 3pm.
Viva La Local showcases the flavors of Baja Arizona with more than 20 local restaurants, 60 farmers market vendors, local beer and wine, and live music on the East Field at Rillito Park.
All plates, wines, and beers are priced at $5 each so that attendees can sample cuisine from a variety of vendors.

Local breweries include Barrio Brewing Co, Borderlands Brewing Co, Dragoon Brewing Co, and Sentinel Peak Brewing Co, with wine offered by Arizona Stronghold.
Shoppers can visit their favorite Heirloom Farmers Market vendors and store their groceries for free at the Veggie Valet while they enjoy the festival. In the spirit of the weekend, Living Streets Alliance will offer a complimentary bike valet.
Bring the kids for interactive music playtime with Mr. Nature’s Music Garden from 10 to 11am, a costume party & kids activities with the Tucson Children’s Museum, and a parent’s ‘rest stop’ hosted by the Lactation Consultants of Southern Arizona IBCLC Professional Group.
Music will be provided by the Tucson Jazz Institute, Southbound Pilot, 8 Minutes to Burn and The Bennu.
While you’re shopping, eating and drinking, visit with local nonprofit organizations that are committed to building a strong local food economy and learn about their causes.
Admission is $6, and kids under age 12 enter free.
