"We received more than 10,000 submissions for this list of 50 people."

The chef and matriarch of all things El Charro, chef Carlotta Flores of Si Charro restaurants, is now a member of the “Forbes 2021 Woman, 50 over 50: Vision.”

The “Vision” group is the third chapter of the series and also features the likes of actress Geena Davis, astronaut Wally Funk, and other visionary women that are “making an impact on society and culture.”

“The 50 Over 50 is a collection of women who, like the speaker, aren’t letting societal expectations dictate their professional timelines,” the website states. “They’re rejecting the conventional wisdom that their best years are behind them, and in so doing, they’re leading a movement.”

To put the selection in perspective, Forbes received more than 10,000 submissions for this round and narrowed it down to just 50 people.

“Together, they embody a new movement of women who reject the idea that the most dynamic part of life is the first half.”

When it comes to big accomplishments, El Charro Café is currently celebrating its 99th anniversary with a special menu, which is definitely something worth biting into.
