This dinner will feature flavor profiles from local purveyors within a 50-mile radius, which are paired with beer from Button Brew House. Bake-off Fundraiser “Pies for Paws” Takes Place at Trident Grill III

“Just in time for the holidays, local bakers compete and dish out their best pies.

This is the first time the Arizona Greyhound Rescue has thrown a bake-off like this, and everyone that’s already involved is ready to take off with the grand prize.

If you’d like to compete with your best pie, make sure you get registered by calling (520) 647-4557. If you’d like to observe, taste, and cheer on your favorite baker instead, tickets are $20 per person at the door. Tasting begins at 1 p.m. and judging at 1:30 p.m.” More…

Phoenix restaurateurs Armando Hernandez and chef Nadia Holguin, a James Beard-nominated duo originally from Chihuahua, Mexico, are behind the restaurant.

Tortillas Chiwas is currently open Thursdays through Saturdays from 5–10 pm with 38 seats. Reservations are available on OpenTable.

The five-course dinner features playful takes on familiar favorites, including carne asada frites, a Sonoran hot dog-inspired tarte tatin, and a Gansito-inspired chocolate dessert.

The dinner runs from 6–9 pm near downtown Tucson. Tickets include the five-course meal, mocktails, sponsor experiences, a gift bag, and @tucsonprimeleaf product samples.
